AS RIVERS OF WATER IN A DRY PLACE

By Bible Names of God

Isai 32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. {great: Heb. heavy}

There is a thirst in us that is more than mere desire. It is a thirst which is inspired by a deep down longing and which the waters of this poor world can never satisfy. But a "Fountain has been opened * * * for sin and for uncleanness" (Zech 13:1) and, praise His Holy Name, we can drink of that Fountain and find cleansing for our sin-stained souls. But after we have satisfied our own burning thirst, what about the thirsty children of men? Shall we not tell them of Him Who is the Water of Life and an Overflowing River?

Blessed Lord, how comforting it is to know that in Thee we can find the Source of supply for every need. Amen.
